Substantial expansion in Edinburgh
Stanley Leisure plc ('Stanley') announces that Edinburgh magistrates have agreed
to a new licence in respect of the relocation of one of Stanley's three casinos
in Edinburgh from a 9,000 sq ft facility in Princes Street to a brand new 30,000
sq ft casino in the established Fountain Park development.
Stanley expects to open its Fountain Park casino, which is budgeted to cost
£6.5m to fit out, during the first half of 2007. Stanley will dispose of its
freehold interest in Princes Street in due course.
Stanley is the largest casino operator in Great Britain with 45 casinos already
operating, of which four are in London.
Stanley has been granted three new licences since the beginning of 2006: in
Nottingham, Liverpool and Sheffield. Stanley is progressing with five more new
licence applications for additional casinos in the provinces and with a further
five new licence applications in respect of relocations in London, Plymouth,
Southport, Liverpool and Southampton.
