Dividend Declaration

The  Directors  of  Downing  Protected  VCT  IV  plc are pleased to announce the
declaration of a dividend of 40p per share. The dividend will be paid on 5 March
2010 to shareholders on the register at 19 February 2010.

This will bring total dividends paid by the Company since its launch to 56p per
share.
